Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well, last week was a busy week for me. I had coaching clients, the final of a speaking competition (I didn’t win 🙁 ), gave a keynote address at a high end HR conference, delivered corporate training and had an interview on a podcast (click link to hear that podcast). Not to mention preparing for a webinar this week (Tuesday 24th November), and more corporate training!
Why am I telling you this? Not to brag, that’s for sure. More to demonstrate that at the beginning of the week I felt like dropping a couple of things because I wasn’t sure I could give them my best effort.
And I thought,
“Let’s not bother as it might not work out anyway”
But, here’s the thing.
If you bet on yourself to do something. Go for some goal, and it works out – YOU WIN!
If you bet on yourself to do something, and it doesn’t work out. Well, you’re still where you started, so you BREAK EVEN.
You ask to be put on that big project at work that you’re not qualified for. One of two things happens usually. You either get it (WIN) or you don’t (BREAK EVEN). Unless you’ve been fired for even asking, you’re not going to lose. But even then, if you work for a company that would do that, then by getting fired – you ALSO WIN!
It the same with most things. If you go for it and get it, YOU WIN. If you don’t get it, well, you’re generally in the same position as when you started so you BREAK EVEN.
At least you know.
Short and to the point this week.
The NO LOSE bet.
Go for it – WIN
Don’t get it – BREAK EVEN
