Leaders Are Readers: Book of the Month – JULY

July Book of the Month

This month’s book of the month for the “Leaders Are Readers” series is one I’m am always hesitant to recommend.

Why?

Because it’s such a profound and life changing book if you read it as it was meant to be read!

What does that mean and what is the book?

It’s called The Greatest Salesman in the World, by Og Mandino. It’s not just for those in sales. It will shift anyone’s mindset to one of being more positive and successful. But only if read as it’s meant to.

You see, it has ten lessons in the book. Each about 3 – 5 pages long. You are meant to read each lesson 3x per day. In your head morning and noon. Then out loud at night. Just one lesson. But the same lesson for 30 days in that manner. Then lesson two in month two, and so on. So it takes 10 months to read!

I didn’t know this going into the book! I did follow it to the letter though. This was back in 2011. Since then, I’ve adopted reading it just once in the morning in my head. And a different lesson each day (i.e. cycling though the lessons every 10 days).

In the first pass of the book I read it properly though. It’s the only way it will really change your life. Your thinking.

I’ve recommended this in the past and don’t know anyone that’s actually read it properly. It takes effort. But then again, success does take effort whatever you decide to pursue.

I don’t recommend this book lightly. If you do pick it up and do read it as it’s meant to be written, the power of the lessons will be with you. In your system. Not just intellectually, but in your bones.

Each lesson teaches you a fundamental truth about success and nature in general. It’s a brilliant little book that deserves to be read properly.

If you are up to the challenge and serious about improving your mindset, get yourself a copy. If you are someone that won’t see it through, don’t event pick it up. It will disappoint.

Watch my video below to see how I ‘hacked’ how to ensure I read the lunchtime session at work without drawing attention to myself!
